Alabama managed to land its first commitment for the 2022 recruiting class on Monday, as Jeremiah Alexander out of Alabaster (Ala.) pledged to the Crimson Tide.

The four-star weakside defensive end, who is currently rated as the top player from the state of Alabama in the 2022 class, made the announcement via his Twitter account:

Alabama already added an impressive group of edge players, including William Anderson, Chris Braswell, Drew Sanders and Quandarrius Robinson, in its 2020 recruiting class.

With that said, a player of Alexander’s caliber will be the perfect candidate to be involved in that next wave of top Crimson Tide defenders capable of getting after the quarterback.

According to 247Sports, Alexander is rated as the No. 9 overall player for the class of 2022, as well as the No. 2 weakside defensive end. Rivals.com still hasn’t give Alexander a ranking, but that should be coming soon!
