Alabama’s 2022 season was a disappointment by Crimson Tide standards, but that’s only because the team didn’t get to play for a national championship. However, only losing two games while taking down a conference champion in the Sugar Bowl is cause for celebration for just about any other program in the nation.
The Crimson Tide will look to bounce back in 2023. A national championship run is the goal, but there’s no easy path to the College Football Playoff.
Despite losing key players like Bryce Young, Will Anderson Jr., Jahmyr Gibbs and others, Alabama is expected to be a legitimate contender for the national title.
College Sports Wire’s Patrick Conn recently revealed a list of high-profile programs that he believes you should either ‘buy or sell’ when it comes to calling then 2023 championship contenders. Conn says “Buy, Buy, Buy.”
“It is hard to sell when it comes to Nick Saban. Not only does he have the longevity in this business, but he also has a proven track record. Whether the team rolls with Jalen Milroe or Ty Simpson is irrelevant, Saban will have the Alabama Crimson Tide ready to compete for another title run in 2023.”
There’s still a few months of the offseason remains, which works to Nick Saban’s advantage. Multiple positional groups are going through significant changes. Most notably, there is expected to be a quarterback battle between the aforementioned Milroe and Simpson
