Alabama holds off South Carolina in thrilling 27-25 victory

South Carolina’s road upset was held off by late Domani Jackson INT.

At the end of the day, the Alabama Crimson Tide moved to 5-1 on the year after beating South Carolina 27-25, and it was anything but pretty. The Tide rushed out to an early 14-0 first-half lead before surrendering 19 straight points and having to come from behind to win in the fourth quarter.

For Alabama fans, it was a frustrating day all around, especially given last week’s performance against Vanderbilt. It’s hard to feel too excited about the win given how poor the defense was on third down, Milroe threw two interceptions, the penalties are adding up and the Tide failed to recover a crucial onside kick, among other things.

While getting the win is all that matters, Alabama has a lot to clean up before traveling to Knoxville next week. The Playoff path is still there, but I think the confidence is starting to teeter a little bit in Tuscaloosa. Alabama looks simply too undisciplined and the coaching staff hasn’t done enough to address it yet.
