Alabama has a higher statistical chance than Georgia to reach CFP

Believe it or not, Alabama is more likely than Georgia to reach the College Football Playoff, according to ESPN.

Alabama fans know what needs to happen for the Crimson Tide to reach the College Football Playoff: beat Georgia in the SEC Championship. After the Crimson Tide lost to Texas in Week 2, the team’s chances of making the playoffs took a hit, but they were not counted out.

With three weeks left in the 2023 regular season, Alabama continues to improve and looks stronger every week that passes.

Currently, the Tide ranks No. 8 in the College Football Playoff ranking, while the Bulldogs rank No. 2. According to ESPN’s Playoff Predictor, the Tide have a higher statistical chance at reaching the top four in the final CFP rankings.

Ohio State has the best chance with 77%, then Florida State with 62%, followed by Michigan with 44%, and Alabama takes the fourth spot with a 41% chance.

Behind Alabama as the first two teams out are Texas at 39% and Georgia, also at 39%.

The Crimson Tide will travel to Lexington to take on Kentucky, then return to take on Chattanooga at home, and will finish the regular season at Auburn for the Iron Bowl.
