Alabama, Georgia, and LSU dominate 2023 All-SEC football preseason teams

Three schools dominate the first-team All-SEC team.

The SEC released its 2023 preseason All-SEC team as voted on by the media on Friday afternoon. The SEC media voted for players to fill out three teams.

The Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs lead the way with 16 selections each. LSU also had a good showing of themselves with 11 selections, including six first-team selections.

There were also some surprises, with programs like South Carolina seeing seven players named to the three preseason teams, including four players’ special teams nods. But perhaps it shouldn’t be a surprise, considering Shane Beamer grew up around his father, Frank Beamer, and ‘Beamer Ball’ that emphasized strong defenses and special teams.

First Team:

Georgia, Alabama, and LSU dominated the first-team preseason All-SEC team. Those three programs comprise 23 of the 28 total first-team slots.
