Alabama football rises one spot in USA TODAY Sports re-rank of all 134 FBS teams

Alabama climbs back into the Top 15 of USA TODAY Sports weekly re-rank of all 134 FBS teams.

Only four weeks remain in the 2024 college football regular season, and the Playoff race is wide open. Outside of the undefeated Oregon Ducks and Miami Hurricanes, it doesn’t appear as if anyone else has surely locked up a Playoff spot quite yet. Georgia, Ohio State and Texas all seem to be in great positions but still have a few more tough contests.

The Alabama Crimson Tide currently sits on the outside looking in with a pair of losses, but a lot will play out in the coming weeks. If Kalen DeBoer’s squad can win out, they will likely be in the playoffs, as both their losses have come on the road against current AP Top 25 teams.

Not everyone shares the same optimism for No. 11 Alabama though as USA TODAY Sports ranked the Crimson Tide No. 15 in their re-rank of all 134 FBS teams. The Tide were their highest ranked two-loss team directly behind Texas A&M and LSU.

The No. 15 ranking will still feel a little low for Alabama fans, but it is up a spot from a week ago. Although, I guess things could be worse as the Auburn Tigers are ranked No. 89 on the list. It is the eight lowest ranking among the power four programs.

The Big Ten dominated this weeks ranking with three of the top five in No. 1 Oregon, No. 2 Ohio State and No. 5 Penn State.
