On Saturday afternoon in Tuscaloosa, the Alabama Crimson Tide got back on their winning ways with a closer than expected 27-25 victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks in SEC action.
Even despite the win however, this game simply did not go as many across college football thought it would, as the Crimson Tide narrowly avoided their second-straight loss to an unranked team. The Crimson Tide did secure their fifth win of the 2024 season however, which was in part due to a late fourth quarter interception.
A game in which the Crimson Tide struggled, here is what people are saying on social media about Alabama’s Week 7 victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks:

Something to consider:
If Germie Bernard falls down before scoring, Alabama could’ve just run out the clock.

24-point home loss to Ole Miss followed by a 2-point halftime deficit in Tuscaloosa the following week.
Alabama's crowd is stunned.
That's so South Carolina. Unpredictable.

Great awareness by Domani Jackson to not kneel in end zone.

Truly one of the ugliest final two minutes of a half you'll see between Alabama and South Carolina.

The concerning part isn’t that it was close (I think South Carolina is a good Progrum) it’s that Alabama historically would’ve absolutely kicked in the door and OBLITERATED whoever was next on their schedule after a loss the game before.

South Carolina converted 5 third downs on that touchdown drive. took over 8 minutes off the clock, keeping Alabama's offense on the sideline.
Something has to change defensively for Alabama

Since going up 28-0 vs. Georgia, Alabama has been outscored 93-62 in the last 147 minutes of football by UGA, Vandy and South Carolina.
