There has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding college football over the last couple of months, but as of right now, the season still looks like it’s a go for the SEC, ACC and Big 12.
So, what does that mean? It means that we can continue the Countdown to Kickoff en route to the Crimson Tide — and the rest of the SEC — getting things underway on Sept. 26.
With it now being Sept. 8, we are officially 17 days away from the start!
Redshirt sophomore wide receiver Slade Bolden has worn the No. 18 for Alabama over the last few seasons, but the more important news might be the new defensive player rocking the number.
According to the official Crimson Tide football roster, redshirt defensive lineman LaBryan Ray has switched from No. 89 to No. 18, which will look different than what we’ve seen from him in recent years.

Either way, it’s become an important number with expected contributions on both sides of the football wearing it for 2020.
