Alabama flips four-star safety from Michigan, commits to Crimson Tide

Alabama flipped a safety from Michigan on Monday night.

After losing three different commitments over the last week, two of which were flips, the Alabama Crimson Tide have now added another member of their 2025 recruiting class as highly-touted safety Ivan Taylor committed to the program Monday night.

Taylor flipped his commitment to Alabama from the Michigan Wolverines, with whom he had been committed to since July of 2024. Prior to being a Michigan commit, Taylor was a Notre Dame Fighting Irish commitment from December of 2023 to July of 2024, which is when he flipped to the Wolverines.

Taking a deeper look at Alabama’s newest commitment, Taylor ranks as the nation’s No. 59 overall player in the 2025 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Taylor is also considered as the nation’s No. 7 overall safety, as well as the No. 9 player in the state of Florida where he attends West Orange High School.

Following the commitment of Taylor, Alabama’s 2025 class is now back up to 21 total commitments, and sits at No. 3 in the nation. Taylor is also the lone safety committed.
