Alabama flips elite JUCO prospect from Mississippi State commitment

Alabama has flipped one of the nation’s top JUCO prospects.

After a lengthy gap between commitments, the Alabama Crimson Tide are now officially back on the board for the 2025 recruiting cycle, as defensive lineman Kevonte Henry has announced his commitment to the program.

Henry, who was committed to Mississippi State, announced that he would be flipping his commitment to Alabama on Monday from the Bulldogs. He had been previously committed to Mississippi State since June of 2024, and was one of the highest-ranked commits for the Bulldogs.

According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Henry ranks as a three-star prospect out of Cerritos College in California, as well as the nation’s No. 2 overall JUCO player. Henry also ranks as the No. 2 JUCO defensive lineman nationally, as well as the No. 1 JUCO player in the state of California.

The three-star is now commitment No. 21 in the Crimson Tide’s 2025 class, which stills ranks No. 2 nationally behind only Ohio State. Henry is also the second defensive lineman alongside fellow three-star London Simmons.
