Alabama football’s chances of making the College Football Playoff took a huge hit after the at-home loss to Texas. However, the Crimson Tide could still reach the playoffs with strong performances the rest of the season and a few teams ahead of them losing.
The latest college football bowl game prediction after Week 2 by Mark Schlabach and Kyle Bonagura of ESPN has Alabama in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
Both Schlabach and Bonagura have the Tide in the same bowl game but with different opponents. Schlabach has Alabama facing USC, while Bonugara picked Memphis.
If these projections hold, then it would be similar to the outcome of the 2022 season, when Alabama failed to make the playoffs and faced a strong opponent in a New Year’s Six bowl game.
There are plenty of games remaining and a plethora of opportunities for the Crimson Tide to work its way back up near the top.
