The Alabama Crimson Tide coaching staff extended an offer to 2025 three-star defensive lineman Joseph Mbatchou on Wednesday evening. Mbatchou is currently committed to the Florida Gators. He has been committed to the Gators for less than a month.
The native of Cameroon plays for Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia. Mbatchou is listed at 6-foot-4.5 and 275 pounds. This is Mbatchou’s first year of organized football. Through the first two games of his senior season, Mbatchou has recorded two tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack.
Despite being committed to the Gators, Mbatchou has received recent offers from the Georgia Bulldogs, Texas Longhorns, Auburn Tigers, and USC Trojans.
Alabama currently has two defensive lineman committed in the ’25 recruiting class. That is three-star defensive tackle London Simmons and JUCO defensive end Steve Mboumoua. The likelihood that the Crimson Tide add another defensive lineman to the ’25 class is increasingly high given the amount of roster turnover that will occur at the position following the 2024 season.
