One of the first notable offseason dominoes for the Alabama Crimson Tide has now officially fallen, as starting defensive lineman LT Overton made a decision Wednesday afternoon as to whether or not he would be entering the 2025 NFL draft.
That decision from Overton ended up being to not enter the 2025 NFL draft, and instead return to Alabama next season. Prior to the decision, Overton was likely to be selected in the upper rounds of the draft, but will instead return to Tuscaloosa next year where he could easily improve his stock as a potential first round pick in 2026.
A transfer from Texas A&M last offseason, Overton enjoyed a strong season at Alabama in 2024 where he posted a career-high 42 tackles with three TFL, two sacks, one PD, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
Overton was also a starter along Alabama’s defensive front at the “Bandit” position, and ranked among the Crimson Tide’s top pass rushers. The rising senior will be a major impact player for the Crimson Tide once again in 2025.
