The college basketball postseason either never happened or was cut short depending on your conference affiliation.
Regardless of what happened in the 2019-2020 season, it’s always a good time to start thinking about the next season. That is exactly what Jeff Goodman of WatchStadium.com did, by producing his preseason top-50 teams for the 2020-2021 season.
Alabama makes a rather surprising entrance on this list, being ranked No. 18 overall.
Oats has added plenty of new talent for his upcoming second year as head coach, as he’s hit the recruiting trail hard, but there are plenty of variables for Goodman to consider when ranking these teams.
He offers no explanation as to why he picked these specific rankings, but he does include commits, last year’s starters and last year’s record.
The most interesting part about Alabama’s placement is that they are the highest ranked SEC program on the list.
The following programs behind Alabama are No. 20 Tennessee, No. 21 Florida, No. 23 Kentucky, No. 27 Arkansas, No. 33 Auburn, No. 43 LSU, No. 49 South Carolina and No. 50 Ole Miss.
There’s still plenty of time until the 2020-2021 college basketball season tips off, until the, stay tuned to Roll Tide Wire as we will keep you updated on all things Alabama men’s basketball.
