Gardner-Webb transfer pitcher Bobby Alcock recently announced that he was transferring to Alabama. Alcock was the 2023 Big South Pitcher of the Year. He finished the 2023 season with a 7-3 record and a 2.51 ERA.
In three seasons with the Bulldogs, Alcock accumulated a 9-6 record and a 3.27 ERA.
The 6-foot-5, 230 pound right-hander finished his Bulldogs career with 156.2 innings pitched to go along with 185 strike outs and 57 earned runs allowed.
With Alabama losing its three weekend starters (Luke Holman, Garrett McMillan, and Jacob McNairy), Alcock will likely be inserted into the weekend rotation.
Head coach Rob Vaughn and the coaching staff have landed four other transfers this offseason in Ole Miss transfer TJ McCants, Maryland tranfer Ian Petrutz, Rutgers transfer Evan Sleight, and Wofford transfer Coulson Buchanan.
