Alabama Baseball dominates UIC en route to 11-1 win

No. 20 Alabama defeated UIC on Friday by a final score of 11-1. The Tide scored 11 runs on nine hits in Game 1 of the series.

The Alabama baseball team continued to put on an offensive display at the plate with an 11-1 win over UIC on Friday evening.

The Tide were led offensively by freshman Colby Shelton and graduate senior Tommy Seidl.

Seidl went 2-for-3 and drove in six runs. Four of Seidl’s RBIs came from a grand slam in the first inning.

Shelton finished the game going 2-for-4 at the plate with two home runs.

Junior Grayson Hitt picked up his first win of the season on the mound after allowing just one run on four hits.

Alabama improved to 10-0 while the Flames fell to 4-4 on the season. The two teams will return to The Joe for Game 2 of the series on Saturday afternoon. The first pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. CST and will air on SEC Network+.
