After a feel-good victory in Boston over the Celtics on Thursday night, on Friday, the Sixers will return home to do battle with the New Orleans Pelicans on the second night of a back-to-back.
Unfortunately for the club, Al Horford has been ruled out of the contest.
Horford didn’t suit up against his former team on Thursday night, though Philadelphia was able to score a victory over their division rival without him. They’ll look to repeat the act on Friday, as Horford will miss his second straight game while he nurses what the club has identified as “left knee soreness” and “left hamstring tightness.”
While there is no definitive timetable for Horford’s return, it stands to reason that his injury should be considered day-to-day. Hamstrings, however, can be some of the more tricky injury issues to deal with, so the Sixers are likely to release injury updates on a daily basis until he is either ruled out for an extended period of time or until he will be made available to play.

With Thursday night’s victory over the Celtics, the Sixers improved to 19-7 and assumed leadership of the NBA’s Atlantic Division. After Friday night’s contest, they will head to Brooklyn where they’ll do battle with the Nets.
They’ll hope to have Horford back in the lineup by then.
