Lately, the Philadelphia 76ers have been playing through Furkan Korkmaz and they have had a lot of success with it. He was huge in their two wins at home and he took that success with him on the road in a win over the New York Knicks.
On Saturday night, he once again provided a big lift with 17 points off the bench and he drilled three from deep on seven attempts. In his third season with the Sixers, it appears that maybe Korkmaz is finally understanding how to play in the league.
“I just think he’s starting to understand more and more how to play in the NBA,” said veteran Al Horford. “It’s a different style of play.”
Korkmaz had a lot of success over the summer playing for his native country of Turkey in the FIBA World Cup. He had a few big games and he is bringing that now over to the Sixers and it is paying off for him.
“He does have a lot of skills and he can do a lot of things that he probably did overseas that he’s getting a chance to do a little more here,” he added. “He just seems more comfortable and he’s starting to understand what his role is and he’s starting to fit in and like I said, I believe he’s a big piece of what we’re doing because of his versatility and all he can do on offense.”

Korkmaz had made 12 3-pointers combined over the previous three games and now he has to keep it going. He has to go into Brooklyn on Monday and make more triples and then go into Toronto the next game and contribute. That is going to be the next challenge for him.” [lawrence-related id=23817,23809,23800]
