Al Horford questions level of basketball for NBA restart in Orlando

Philadelphia 76ers big man Al Horford questions the level of play when the NBA resumes in Orlando.

Philadelphia 76ers big man Al Horford has seen a lot in his NBA career. He has been in the league 13 years so that means he’s seen plenty of different scenarios.

He was a part of a talented Atlanta Hawks team that built their way up to an Eastern Conference Finals appearance and he was then a part of some good Boston Celtics teams. He has been an All-Star five times in his career and he has been through the wars.

However, what about playing in the middle of a global pandemic inside a bubble in Orlando with no fans? Without playing basketball for four months?

“It’s very different. This is all uncharted territory for all of us,” Horford said. “The level of basketball is put in question and you look at the intensity of the game and the fact that there are no fans. That’s something that I know has been talked about. That’s a big thing and it’s definitely going to be very different.”

The Sixers are a team that thrives on the passion of the home crowd so it will be interesting to see how they respond to this atmosphere with no fans. They play in their first scrimmage game on Friday against the Memphis Grizzlies so that will give the team their first look at how this bubble will work for them on the court.
