Cincinnati Bengals wideout A.J. Green isn’t shy about talking Joe Burrow.
Green has been in and out of football activities this summer at camp so far with a small hamstring issue. But from his reps with Burrow to just watching from the sidelines one thing is clear to the star wideout:
The Bengals got one.
Green, normally pretty reserved in interviews, didn’t hold back, per Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com:
“He’s going to be great for the next 15 years. With him, man, it’s just getting that rhythm. We’re always talking after, even before I got hurt, I need to put the ball there or how do you like this ball or how do you like this route. So it’s always constant communication. Joe is going to be a great one.”
Seems bold and it is. But it also is hardly the first time teammates have had major praise for Burrow.
One veteran came away stunned with some of the checks and adjustments Burrow has made at the line of scrimmage. Another who has played with Aaron Rogers in the past…compared him to Aaron Rodgers.
And to be blunt, Green would know better than most.
The Bengals hope Green can stay healthy this year while he plays on the franchise tag, then hit him with an extension. Either way, Green hasn’t exactly tried to throw water on the sky-high expectations for Burrow.
