The rehab portion of A.J. Green’s comeback is over.
Now fans can begin to wonder in earnest if Green will come back to the Cincinnati Bengals.
The star wideout confirmed the stage of his comeback tour on Monday after the season concluded.
“I’m done with rehab,” Green said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “I won’t take much time off. I’ll start working out right away.”
Green initially suffered his injury on the first day of training camp and it seemed like he might return for the team’s final two games before shutting himself down, then shifting to injured reserve for the final week.
Doctors have told Green the injury won’t impact his playing future, but the Bengals (and other teams) will want to see him going full speed befoe engaging in expensive extension talks ahead of free agency.
