A.J. Brown will keep No. 11 after Julio Jones declined to take it

Jones could switch to No. 8, his college number.

The number saga involving Tennessee Titans wide receivers A.J. Brown and Julio Jones appears to have come to an end.

Once Jones landed with the Titans in a trade with the Atlanta Falcons, the question on everyone’s mind was if Jones would keep his No. 11, which was owned by Brown.

Initially, in the wake of the trade, Brown hinted that he might be switching numbers, and even went as far as to tell fans to stop buying jerseys for a month until things were sorted out.

Well, it appears Jones will indeed be switching jersey numbers in 2021, as Brown took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce that while he tried to give the veteran wideout his No. 11, Jones declined to take it.

As of this moment, we still don’t know exactly what number Jones will wear, but one would have to assume that he’ll take the No. 8, the same digit he wore during his days at Alabama.

While No. 8 is already taken, it is being worn by 2021 UDFA and punter, James Smith, who will undoubtedly have to give it up for the established wideout.

Earlier in the day we shared a rendering of what Jones will look like in a No. 8 Titans jersey. Check it out:
