A.J. Brown met with the media for the first time since the Eagles 22-16 win over the Panthers, and the All-Pro wide receiver said his comments about “passing” were misconstrued.
Asked about what the offense needs to improve upon, Brown offered a one-word response: “Passing.”
Brown discussed the Eagles’ lack of overall efficiency in the passing game. Still, experts and critics interpreted his comments as if the wide receiver were criticizing his quarterback and longtime friend, Jalen Hurts.

Hurts threw for just 108 yards on 21 attempts, while Brown had four catches for 43 yards, and his concerns are warranted as the Eagles are averaging the second-fewest yards through the air (180.6) and have the fewest attempts (328) in the NFL.
Hurts has a 68.3 percent completion rate, and his 102.4 QB rating is on pace to be his personal best, but his 200.2 yards per game are his lowest since becoming the full-time starter in 2021.
Philadelphia has failed to hit 200 passing yards through the air in three straight games.
