Tanner McKee earned his first-career NFL touchdown on Sunday, but the ball went on a bit of a journey before getting to him first.
During the Philadelphia Eagles Week 17 rout of the Dallas Cowboys, McKee had to step in for an injured Kenny Pickett during the third quarter. With the Eagles up 27-7 at the time, McKee tossed his first NFL touchdown to A.J. Brown on a beautiful pass to the veteran wide receiver.
However, after the touchdown, Brown celebrated the moment by launching the ball into the stands without a second thought for his quarterback’s milestone. Oops!
When Brown got to the Eagles’ sideline, he hilariously realized his mistake and promised the fan who caught the ball his jersey after the game. Then the Eagles — led by security chief Dom DiSandro — were able to get the ball back from the fan and give it to its rightful owner in McKee.

Shoutout to the fan for being a good sport here in giving McKee his milestone ball. And, of course, to Brown and the Eagles for doing their due diligence in rectifying the mistake.
All’s well that ends well!
