Ah Deong Yang is a name to watch in Washington’s 2026 class

Ah Deong Yang is a promising addition to Washington’s trenches.

Ah Deong Yang committed to the Washington Huskies somewhat out of the blue in November, but when he joined Jedd Fisch’s 2026 class, he became a perfect addition to the offensive line. The 6-foot-3, 343-pound product of Roosevelt High School in Seattle is unranked by 247Sports but brings the desired body type and physicality the Huskies will need up front to succeed in the Big Ten.

Yang, who was honored as the 2024 Metro League Offensive Lineman of the Year, is an impressive mover for his size and has the makings of a powerful interior lineman at the college level.

He pulls well and when he’s able to get moving downhill, finishes blocks with authority. He’s also proficient in multiple positions along the offensive line, lining up at left tackle and both left and right guard, something that offensive coordinator Brennan Carroll desires in his linemen.

The local product has also developed a solid anchor in pass protection, even though he hasn’t faced much competition with the strength and skill set to match his physicality. When he enrolls at Washington and is able to spend some time in a college strength program and get a better understanding of the physicality it will take to play at the college level, he has the ability to develop into a steady force along the offensive line.

The coaching staff was wise to pursue him heavily and secure his commitment early in the 2026 cycle as it emphasizes the value of in-state recruiting.
