Texas A&M is still well positioned in the recruiting battle for 2023 4-Star quarterback Austin Novosad, who is still presently listed as a “hard commit” to Baylor according to 247Sports. The Aggies have had a tough go of it in terms of securing quarterback commitments in the 2023 class, specifically losing Eli Holstein to Alabama in late May. After recently speaking to On3’s Sam Spiegelman about his current status, Novosad stated that Baylor, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M are all still in the running as things stand.
Novosad is going into his senior season at Dripping Springs High School in Dripping Springs, Texas, where during his 2020 sophomore year, he passed for 2,887 yards and 36 touchdowns with only 5 interceptions while being named the Texas District 12-5A D-I Offensive Newcomer of the Year. In his 2021 junior season, he threw for an impressive 3,399 yards and 40 touchdowns with 9 interceptions and was named Texas District 12-5A-I Overall MVP by the season’s end.

Novosad received his offer from Ohio State on June 1st, and visited on June 10th, while the Aggies offered on June 25th where he visited the campus on the same day, and Notre Dame offered on July 11th, where he has yet to visit so far. Texas A&M looks to have a slight edge as of now due to the relationships he’s developed with the coaching staff going back to last year, where he attended a school camp on June 15th, and unofficially visited on October 23rd.
Overall, Austin Novosad is one of the top recruits on Texas A&M’s radar, and you can be sure that they will be fighting for his commitment up until the moment that the pen hits the paper.
