The Aggies return to Kyle Field this Saturday night – for the first since September 17th – looking to end their three-game losing streak (all three losses against SEC opponents on the road) versus No. 15 Ole Miss. With off-field distractions developing early in the week, this will not be an easy feat.
These two programs began their history on the gridiron in November 1914 – a 14-7 victory for the Aggies – and it wasn’t until October 2014 until the Rebels earned their first win. The Aggies and Rebels played only three times before the Aggies joined the SEC in 2012, however.
Since the Aggies became an SEC member school, the Aggies hold a record of 5-4 with their last win taking place in October 2019. The two programs didn’t play during the 2020 season due to a rescheduled home game for the Aggies that ultimately got canceled.
Last season, in Oxford, Ole Miss won 29-19 as a result of a struggling passing attack – Calzada completed only 57% of his passes and threw two interceptions – combined with a Matt Corral-lead offense that dominated on the ground (308 rushing yards!!!) and saw efficiency in the passing game.
A conference win versus the Rebels is very much needed this Saturday night in College Station.
The Aggies take on No. 15 Ole Miss on Saturday night, 6:30PM CT, at Kyle Field.
