The Aggies offense finally showed signs of life against the Ole Miss Rebels as Conner Weigman injected energy into the Aggies passing game, throwing for over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns in his starting debut, and making more big plays than the Aggies offense has made sense the season opener against Sam Houston St.
But the Aggies defense, for the first time all season, let the team down throughout the night, allowing nearly 400 yards rushing on the game, and committing multiple costly penalties extending Rebel drives which too often led to points.
The Aggies made their typical late 4th quarter charge, as Weigman tossed his 4th touchdown of the day to Devon Achane with 1:25 to play in the 4th quarter to bring the score to 31-28 Ole Miss, but once again, it was too little too late, as they couldn’t get in scoring position on the final possession.
There are a lot of things to feel good about coming out of this game, but there are still lots of questions to be answered.
