Aggies aim to even program series this Saturday versus the Bulldogs

The Aggies will look to even the program series, to eight wins apiece, this Saturday afternoon at Davis Wade Stadium.

The history between these two programs began in November 1915 with what must’ve been a riveting 7-0 victory by the Bulldogs. There was only one other contest between the two prior to 2000 – a 14-0 home victory by the Aggies in October 1937 – and then the Aggies lost in a high-scoring affair on New Year’s Eve, in 2000, by a score of 43-41.

Since the Aggies joined the SEC in 2012, these two programs have each won five games.

Last season, when the two squared off, again, on the first weekend in October, the Bulldogs edged the Aggies, by a score of 26-22, on Kyle Field. Zach Calzada struggled to get the passing game going, completing just 12 passes for 135 yards with a touchdown and an interception. The Aggies’ rushing attack did the heavy lifting, rushing for 221 yards – 107 of those by Isaiah Spiller. The Bulldogs had very little success on the ground, rushing for a sorry 46 yards, yet found great success in their passing attack with Will Rogers completing 78% of his passes and throwing for 408 yards and three touchdowns.

The Aggies play at Mississippi State on Saturday at 3:00PM CT and will look to break the SEC-record tie.
