The Aggie Women’s basketball team will look a little different next year as Coach Joni Taylor is starting to mold this program into her style of play. She didn’t ask a lot of her team this past season, other than to play hard defense and embrace the change. After a tough opening season for Coach Taylor, her team was able to show a little bit of what could be in store for Aggie fans after winning their first two games in the SEC tournament.
On the heels of successful recruiting and a strong push in the transfer portal, the Aggies will be adding another All-Conference player to their locker room in Aicha Coulibaly. Rumors surfaced about a month ago that the Auburn transfer had Texas A&M high on the list, but there was radio silence for a week. That was until Sunday around lunchtime when Coulibaly confirmed, via Instagram, her intentions to transfer to Texas A&M.
She will be joining Lauren Ware, Endyia Rogers, and Kyndall Hunter in this transfer class. Three of the four transfers are in ESPN Top 35 women’s college basketball with Coulibaly and Rogers
Below is a short interview with Head Coach Taylor and the announcement of the commitments via social media.
