Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is still in its beginning stages as the 2024 football season enters its second full weekend of play, including the Aggies’ home matchup vs. McNeese State in an attempt to secure head coach Mike Elko’s first victory with the program.
Despite losing to Notre Dame 23-13 to open the season, over 100 prospects from the 2025, 2026, and 2027 recruiting classes attended the game, including several current Aggie commits. One underrated prospect, the son of one of the better offensive linemen to play for the program, will reportedly visit Texas A&M this weekend.
Standing at 6-3 and 276 pounds, Hunter McKinney’s 2024 junior season at Lake Creek HS is currently underway, and from a recruiting standpoint, he still has a lot of work to do to earn more interest from major programs while visiting College Station this weekend is certainly a good start.
Hunter’s Father, Steve McKinney, starred for the Aggies during the late 1990s under former head coach R.C. Slocum while playing for ten years in the NFL after being drafted 4th round by the Indianapolis Colts. During his career at both guard and center, McKinney logged 133 starts in 143 total appearances.

Texas A&M will host McNeese State on Saturday, Sept. 7, for an early kickoff at 11:45 a.m. The game will air on the SEC Network.
