In the latest Amway Coaches Poll, powered by USA TODAY Sports, Michigan got a little respect put on its name, given the thorough beatdown of in-state rival MSU.
Last week, Michigan came in at No. 14, holding serve during the bye week. but after beating Sparty 44-10, the Wolverines moved up two spots, coming in on Sunday at No. 12 in the eyes of the coaches.
No longer will the maize and blue face a ranked Indiana team, however, as the Hoosiers dropped out of the poll after a narrow loss at Penn State. Though, Ohio State, naturally, looms large in two weeks, with the Buckeyes holding steady at No. 2.
Former opponents that are still ranked include No. 9 Penn State and No. 14 Wisconsin — both of which were losses for the Wolverines — as well as No. 15 Notre Dame and No. 20 Iowa — both wins for the maize and blue.
