Much was made – and rightfully so – about Arkansas’ production from the backfield last year. Four different Razorbacks players had 500 yards or more on the ground.
The players don’t get those yards without blocking up front, however. And now, the coach of the guys up front is being rewarded.
Cody Kennedy, after his first season coaching Arkansas’ offensive line, earned his second pay raise. WholeHogSports.com reported that Kennedy’s new deal with Arkansas will pay him $700,000 a year through 2024. That’s a raise of $300,000 per season and adds a year to the contract.
Kennedy, a 2012 graduate of Southeastern Louisiana, spent the 2020 season at Southern Miss as run game coordinator and offensive line coach before joining the Hogs for the 2021 season. He was a semifinalist for the Broyles Award, given to the nation’s best assistant coach, after the season.
Per the report, Kennedy’s salary is the largest among all Arkansas assistants except defensive coordinator [autotag]Barry Odom[/autotag] and offensive coordinator [autotag]Kendal Briles[/autotag].
