AFC playoff picture: What Steelers fans should be watching in Week 18

The Steelers will keep a close eye on the scoreboard to see who they play in the first round of the playoffs.

NFL Week 18 kicked off a day early for the Pittsburgh Steelers as they lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 19-17 on Saturday. This shut the Steelers out of any opportunity to win the AFC North. So now the Steelers and all of Steeler Nation are watching Sunday’s game in anticipation of where the Steelers will fall in the seeding in the tournament and who they will play.

Here’s the games to keep an eye on this weekend.

Los Angeles Chargers @ Las Vegas Raiders.

The Chargers are fighting for a spot in the playoffs and this game against the Raiders is a must win. But if the Raiders pull off the upset, it would put the Steelers on the road next week against the Houston Texans. If the Chargers win, it means the Steelers would instead travel to Baltimore and go against the Ravens for a third time this season.

Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans

This game is less about the winners and losers and more about scouting the Texans in case the Steelers take them on next week. Everyone knows the Ravens but Houston is a different team without wide receiver Tank Dell and we will be keeping a close eye on this one.
