New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is going to be a man of his word… and at least try it out.
Rodgers, 39. sustained a torn Achilles injury only moments into his Jets career in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills (6-6)… and now he’s going to try and play again this season like he said his intentions were all along.
New York head coach Robert Saleh announced Wednesday the team is opening the 21-day practice window for the quarterback.
Rodgers now has 21 days to practice with the team before he has to be added back to the Jets’ 53-man roster. If he is not added back, he will have to return to injured reserve for the remained for the season, which would end his year.
Per Saleh, Rodgers “has been cleared for functional football activity.”
But considering how quickly Rodgers is attempting to comeback, it really is unclear if he would be back at all this season… especially considering his team’s 4-7 record.
