Despite his disdain for Eddie Kingston, the announcers think Bryan Danielson looks a little concerned for this matchup. Kingston has to step between the ropes to get a breather after an early kick catches him on the knee.
Kingston shows he knows how to check those kicks when needed, but he’s also absorbing chops. Danielson takes things to the mat, but Kingston is able to fight back using his chops, including the machine gun variety.
Danielson is sent to the floor and nailed with a tope suicida, which does nothing great for Eddie’s knee. They battle to the apron, and Danielson suplexes Kingston off of it to the floor.
Back in the ring, Danielson is able to keep his foe at arm’s length with a variety of kicks. The American Dragon uses some small joint manipulation to add to Kingston’s misery, then stomps on his elbow for good measure.
Danielson comes off the top rope but is countered with an exploder. He fights back immediately until Kingston is able to move out of the way of a running knee in the corner.
Several kicks to the back set up a dragon suplex by Danielson, good for a near fall. Here come the whooos as the crowd responds to Danielson’s corner strikes. He takes Kingston to the mat again and works over his already ailing arm before dropping hammer and anvil elbows.
Kingston’s own elbows allow him to fight back, and he hits the spinning back fist to set up a Northern Lights bomb for a two count. Danielson keeps nailing the right arm, then delivers the Busaiku Knee and is flustered when Kingston kicks out.
Wrist control allows Danielson to stomp right on Kingston’s face. He wraps his legs around Kingston and works the small joints again, forcing Eddie to get his foot to the ropes for a break.
Yes Kicks hammer Kingston’s chest until Eddie can block one, and they trade suplexes back and forth. Both men are down and the crowd rewards them with “this is awesome” chants.
They are just slapping the crap out of each other now. Danielson wants a Busaiku Knee but runs into a clothesline, and Eddie follows with a powerbomb and a high stack to win.
It doesn’t initially look like Danielson will shake Kingston’s hand, but he finally does and then raises Kingston’s arm in victory as well.
