AEW Dynamite results: Sammy Guevara, MJF hose Darby Allin but get some bad news afterward

Who won the final match of the Four Pillars tournament on AEW Dynamite?

Sammy Guevara is accompanied by wife Tay Melo, but only as far as the stage. MJF follows him out but heads over to join the announcers, saying he’s there to support “one of the best friends I’ve had in my entire life.” He hands out pickles to Taz and company.

Allin grabs a side headlock, then continues to work holds that take Guevara down to the mat. He springboards into an arm drag, then takes the fight back to the mat again.

Tony Schiavone is floored they are discussing pickles while a high stakes match is underway. Allin gets a cloverleaf applied but Guevara reaches the ropes, then rakes the eyes so he can finally get some offense going.

Guevara signals he’s going to try for something crazy from the apron, but Allin never lets him attempt anything. Sammy responds with a mule kick to force Darby to the floor, then hits a moonsault and strikes a pose on the floor to the delight of MJF.

Nothing too insane happens during picture-in-picture, but Allin diving through the ropes right into a cutter from a waiting Guevara kind of qualifies. Sammy goes under the ring for a table, which … we guess is OK in this match? The fans approve, anyway.

Guevara ends up on the table, with Allin menacingly heading up top. But Melo is on the apron for a timely distraction, and Guevara delivers a Spanish Fly for a two count.

Now it’s Allin on the table as Guevara climbs. He hits the 630 senton to drive Allin through the table, and the announcers are acting like it’s over.

Of course, Darby beats the ref’s 10 count and even has enough left in the tank to dodge a corner charge and connect on a shotgun dropkick. MJF, however, throws Allin his skateboard, Guevara acts like he’s been hit with it, and the ref quickly calls for the bell.

Jack Perry hustles down to prevent a post-match assault, but Allin seems upset he wasn’t out there sooner. MJF mocks both of them, but Tony Schiavone has some news: Tony Khan has announced a tag team match for next week on Dynamite. If Allin and Perry win, both of them are added to the title match at Double or Nothing.
