AEW Dynamite results: Darby Allin, Jack Perry aren’t united but are victorious over MJF, Sammy Guevara

See how MJF’s grand plan went up in smoke on Dynamite.

In a twist on what you might expect, Darby Allin and Jack Perry appear to be at odds with each other already, while MJF and Sammy Guevara come to the ring in matching scarves and are all hugs.

Perry and Guevara start out for their respective teams, and Jack looks good, firing off a crisp dropkick that has Sammy begging off. Allin and MJF both tag in, with the fans firmly behind Darby. Some mat wrestling gets Allin a near fall, then another — and now it’s MJF’s turn to hug Sammy before they head to the floor to regroup.

The faces isolate MJF, but Guevara is able to sneak in a cheap shot from the apron, giving the world champ the upper hand. Guevara tags in and chokes Allin with his scarf behind the referee’s back, not once but twice. Alas, the referee catches them the second time but doesn’t see the choke.

Perry is doing a horrible job alerting the ref, but that works for his team too as Allin grabs the scarf and uses it himself. Allin tries to make a tag but MJF gets to Perry first and hurls him into the barricade.

After some commercials, Perry finally gets the hot tag, and he’s even able to fight the other team one on two. Jack hurls himself into suicide dives to both sides, repeatedly, in an impressive display of cardio. When Guevara finally gets out of the way, Allin throws his body at Sammy instead, and Perry hits a Tiger Driver for a near fall.

Guevara responds with a Spanish Fly off the top for a two count on Perry. MJF tags in and peppers Perry with right hands as boos stream in from the fans. MJF tries throwing his partner into a swanton but Allin is now back to hit a Code Red on Sammy. MJF counters into a powerbomb for two when Allin tries to give him the same treatment.

Meanwhile, Perry has tagged himself in, and he locks MJF in a Snare Trap until Guevara uses a double stomp to break it. The bad guys look ready for tandem dives, but MJF lets Guevara do it on his own. Perry is rolled back into the ring, but he kicks out after a brainbuster.

Sammy gets tagged back in and climbs to the top rope, delivering a big senton that allows MJF to cover for two. Now MJF and Guevara are bickering a bit after the champ tagged himself in. Sammy tries to steal MJF’s pin, saying “we’re trying to win” right back to MJF.

Their discussion leads to MJF slapping Sammy, who superkicks him in response. Perry tries to roll up Sammy but only gets two, and now Allin tags himself in, hits the Coffin Drop and gets the three count. Despite his efforts, MJF will now have three challengers for his world championship at Double or Nothing.
