Happy fifth birthday, All Elite Wrestling. The company that sprang to life right at the end of the last decade is going strong well into this one, and it’s only fitting that its first televised show of the year is an episode of AEW Dynamite. What’s in store for fans in Newark?
Can Dante Martin soar to gold against Orange Cassidy?
It’s been a rough year or so for Top Flight, with both of the Martin brothers battling serious injuries. Yet they’ve both made it back, and they look as good in the ring as ever.
Dante Martin caught the attention of Orange Cassidy, who seems to be pre-emptively offering title shots to anyone who even sort of hints about asking for one. Will he regret that against Dante, or can he keep his second AEW International Championship reign rolling along?
Will Mariah May dazzle in her debut?
We’ve seen Mariah May, Toni Storm fangirl. What we haven’t seen yet is May showing the skills that made her a hot commodity in Japan before she became All Elite.
She’s got a real test in front of her in the form of Queen Aminata. The question is whether Storm will be upset if May passes it, feeling like she’s stealing some of the Timeless spotlight. That could be fun.
Who will get more cheers when Swerve Strickland and Daniel Garcia collide?
Yeah, we know, we know. Swerve Strickland is supposed to be a “bad guy.” I guess we’ll just ignore the ever increasing cheers he’s getting.
Daniel Garcia is getting over more and more lately too, even during his (multiple) defeats in the Continental Classic. That could work out for him here too, since he seems likely to lose this but the fans should still love him for his perseverance.
Also advertised for Dynamite tonight:

The action gets underway as it usually does at 8 p.m. ET, and we’ll be serving up live AEW Dynamite results here at Wrestling Junkie for the full two hours.
