Adrian Peterson is a big fan of Redskins’ growing core pieces

The rest of the season might’ve gone awry for the Washington Redskins this year but it’s hard not to be encouraged by some of the young talent putting up numbers.

And rest assured it has the attention of a veteran like Adrian Peterson.

Here’s what he told the media on the topic, per Jacob Steinberg of the team’s official website:

“Yeah definitely. Did you see that catch by [Terry McLaurin] in the end zone? That was an amazing catch in a critical time for us, [Kelvin Harmon], [Cole Holcomb] on the defensive side of the ball, [Jimmy Moreland], all these guys are playing outstanding. That’s the incredible thing, these guys are young. These guys are just getting into the groove and getting opportunities.”

Peterson hit on all the big names, to say the least. Terry McLaurin has been one of the NFL’s best breakout players outright.

Beside him at wideout, Kelvin Harmon and even Steven Sims (who is in line for an even bigger role) have made waves.

And defensively, Cole Holcomb continues to blossom at linebacker and Jimmy Moreland has helped solve one of the bigger questions in the secondary.

If Peterson sees it, fans should too. The season might be a downer, but there are certainly some bright spots to keep in mind.
