The fans that inhabit the Chiefs Kingdom are still celebrating the franchise’s first championship in 50 years. Actress Ashleigh Murray is a proud Kansas City, Missouri native, and the Chiefs fan has carved out an exciting career playing legendary comic book character “Josie McCoy” of the fictional band “Josie and the Pussycats.”

Murray, who currently stars on the CW’s ”Katy Keene” was recently a guest on the BUILD Series in New York City to talk about the new show and career. Chiefs Wire contributing writer Ed Easton Jr. was in attendance and asked the Murray about her thoughts on the Super Bowl victory.

“Listen, I’m gonna be honest I have not watched football ever since they kicked out Colin Kaepernick,” Murray said. “I’m down for the cause. I’m here for it. But the Kansas City Chiefs have not been in the Super Bowl for a very long time. I was the only one in the house screaming, I called my mom she answered screaming. She actually just sent me a text yesterday with a link to buy these fleece championship hoodies, and I think I’m gonna get the one in red and black.”

“It’s so Kansas City, I know everyone back home is probably rocking them so hard. I couldn’t find my Jamaal Charles jersey to wear when the game was playing. I’m super hype we had the Royals winning the World Series, and now we have the Kansas City Chiefs.”

Murray was among the many celebrity Chiefs fans to express their joy on social media after winning Super Bowl LIV.

You can watch Murray as Josie McCoy every Thursday night on “Katy Keene” on The CW.
