Accountability Will Be Key To Arkansas Football’s Success In 2022

The goal of the team is to focus on getting better every day, says Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson.

Following the success of the 2021 season, a year that saw Arkansas football win nine games and earn their first bowl win since the 2016 Liberty Bowl, the Razorbacks enter spring practice with the mindset of, “we want more.”

There seems to be no sign of a slow start to the spring practice period, It was apparent on Tuesday as the team practiced with high intensity. The goal of the team is to focus on getting better every day, says quarterback KJ Jefferson.

“The coaches just send out a plan and we just follow it. All of that is just being beneficial to help us be the best team that we can be,” Jefferson said during Tuesday’s media availability. “So with walkthroughs, it all translates to us actually on the field competing against each other, going full speed. We are losing no reps or nobody being left behind.”

As all great teams do, leadership does not stop with the coaching staff. That seems to be the mantra for Arkansas during spring practice, as players are wanting to capitalize and improve each day, and they will do whatever is necessary to meet that goal.

“Everybody just holds each other accountable, and everyone is focusing in on the little details.” says Jefferson, “(it’s) the things that are going to separate us from the other SEC schools and other schools in the country.”

Jefferson spoke more on individual players, especially those at skill positions, on Tuesday. Here’s a breakdown of Jefferson’s thoughts on the early week of spring football.
