The 11th seeded Clemson Tigers went into their final game of the 2021 season with nothing to play for but pride as they had already been eliminated from ACC tournament contention after falling to Louisville on Tuesday. That didn’t keep the Tigers bats from pulling off an upset to close their campaign, however.
Trailing second-seeded Georgia Tech 5-2, Adam Hackenberg worked an impressive 14-pitch at-bat and launched that 14th pitch over the fence for a three-run home run to tie things at five.
Bryce Teodosio added an inside-the-park home run to give Clemson the lead in the sixth and sent the Tigers on their way to end their season with an upset as they were paced by 11 extra-base hits Wednesday night.
Georgia Tech will play Louisville on Thursday at 3 p.m. ET as the winner will advance to the ACC semi-finals.
