Aaron Rodgers would again be the opposite of a critical thinker if he left the Packers

Leaving Green Bay would be dumb move. A critical thinker should know that!

This is the online version of our daily newsletter, The Morning WinSubscribe to get irreverent and incisive sports stories, delivered to your mailbox every morning.

Aaron Rodgers considers himself a critical thinker. He’ll tell you that right to your face or even while on a radio show that’s listened to by a lot of people.

I’ve admittedly found that title tough to believe because I go by the old adage of if you need to tell people that you’re cool then you’re probably not cool.

But yeah, Rodgers has never lacked confidence in himself throughout his NFL career and now this could be the week in which we find out where he’ll continue that career in 2022 and beyond.

And you know what? He’d be an idiot to leave the Green Bay Packers. There’s just no way around that. None. It would be a dumb move and would take away any “critical thinker” points that he thinks he has left.

Rodgers, of course, isn’t a free agent so he would need the Packers to work out a trade to send him to a new team. Reports and rumors have three AFC teams in the mix for a possible move with Green Bay – the Broncos, Titans, and Steelers.

Will one of those teams land one of the greatest QBs to ever have played the game? I don’t know. But some are suggesting we could know as early as Tuesday. Like, tomorrow.

If I’m Aaron Rodgers (which I’m not), I wouldn’t go to any AFC team. Why? I’ll give you five reasons – Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, and Lamar Jackson.

The AFC is stacked with incredibly talented young QBs and it’s going to be a battle each year to win that conference. The Titans, Steelers, and maybe the Broncos could be contenders with Rodgers but there are a lot of good teams in that conference.

The NFC, in comparison, is a million times easier. Just look at the NFC North, which Rodgers has owned for years. The Bears, Lions, and Vikings are continually screwing up their franchises year after year and making it easy for the Packers to rack up division titles.

Why would Rodgers want to leave that? You’re pretty much guaranteed a NFC North crown each year and a good seed in the playoffs.

That’s just too easy!

Plus, who are the other NFC teams with stellar QBs?

The Rams are the defending champs but their all in moves from last season could set them up for a very short run. Plus, trying to defend a title these days is really darn hard.

The Cardinals have Kyler Murray but they’ve been going through some offseason drama lately.

Dak Prescott and the Cowboys have yet to show they can be serious contenders when it matters most.

Russell Wilson’s future in Seattle seems dicey and even if he stays the Seahawks have been anything special lately.

Tom Brady is done with football. For now, at least.

The NFC is a nice summer breeze compared to the AFC. I’m total idiot and can see that! I’d think a self-proclaimed critical thinker would be able to see that, too.

But then again, always be wary of the self-proclaimed people. They don’t always know what’s really up.
