Aaron Rodgers to wear No. 8 for Jets

Aaron Rodgers going back to his old college number

Aaron Rodgers is finally a New York Jet and he will have a new number as well.

Despite getting the blessing from Joe Namath to wear No. 12, Rodgers will wear the No. 8, the number he wore at California, per Adam Schefter.

The No. 12 has been retired by the Jets in honor of Broadway Joe, but Namath had previously said he would allow Rodgers to wear the number if the team were to acquire him. But it sounds like Rodgers is going to respect 12 being retired and is able to go back to his college number after it was freed up with the trade of Elijah Moore to the Browns.

So get those new No. 8 jerseys ready.
