Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady are in the same conference for the first time. When Brady was in the AFC and Rodgers was in the NFC, they didn’t see each other often. It made for few duels between the generational talents. But that could change over the next few years. Brady and Rodgers are going to be seeing more of each other, now that Brady is a Tampa Bay Buccaneer.
Rodgers shared his thoughts on the major shift of quarterbacking power in the NFL, with Brady leaving the Patriots.
“I think it is definitely strange,” he said during a interview with Golf Channel’s Chantel McGabe. “It will be strange to not see him in a Patriot jersey. We played them a couple of years ago and thought that was probably the last time we’d play each other. Now, we get another chance.
“I think having him in the league is obviously great for the league and he’s a fantastic player. His career speaks for itself. Obviously, he still feels like he has a lot — he has something left to prove. I don’t think he does. I think it is only to himself that he can still do it. What he’s done kind of setting he bar for the rest of us with his health and his work ethic and his longevity is something I think that is appreciated now and is going to be appreciated even greater when he’s done playing.”
Brady will be 43 years old at the start of the 2020 season, and he signed a two-year deal with the Buccaneers, which should get him through his 22nd season at 45 years old. He continues to reset the bar on how old an elite quarterback can be.
