Aaron Donald still limited by knee injury but Sean McVay is confident he’s OK

Aaron Donald was limited in practice on Saturday but Sean McVay is confident he’ll be OK.

Aaron Donald popped up on the Rams’ first injury report of Week 15, being listed as a non-participant Wednesday due to a knee injury – even though the team didn’t practice due to its COVID-19 outbreak. He was then estimated as a limited participant on Thursday and Friday, seemingly making some progress despite the Rams not practicing on those two days, either.

They finally took the field on Saturday and Donald was once again listed as limited. Sean McVay spoke to the media for the first time Saturday and commented on Donald’s knee injury, expressing little concern about the issue.

“He’s feeling good. I was just talking to (sports science director) Tyler Williams on my way over here and he said that Aaron is feeling good. A little bit harder to evaluate just based on the tempo that we had today, but I feel confident that he’s going to be OK. It’s kind of more semantics than anything else is my understanding there,” McVay said.

Donald was one of three Rams on the injury report after Saturday’s session. Brian Allen was a full participant, which is great news after he missed all but one snap in the last two games. Greg Gaines was also a full participant in practice, indicating his hand injury isn’t an issue.
