A Yankees prospect had such an embarrassing bat flip fail after he thought he hit a homer

This was an epic bat flip fail.

There’s something really fun about watching a hitter flip his bat in the air after absolutely crushing a home run. Pitchers probably don’t like it but whatever, it’s a fun celebration.

You know what’s even better than that, though? A good bat flip fail. And we got a good one of those last night in a minor league game that ended up being the final out of the game, which takes this fail to a whole new level.

Anthony Seigler, who was the Yankees’ first-round draft pick in 2018, thought he crushed a homer for the Hudson Valley Renegades in the bottom of the 10th inning. He was so sure of it that he flipped his bat in the air with glee. He then noticed the ball didn’t leave the yard and tried to at least get a double out of it.

But then he was thrown out at second and the game was over and his team suffered a 6-2 loss.

Ouch.
