Wisconsin freshman outside linebacker Jordan Mayer entered the transfer portal earlier today, according to a report from The Athletic’s Jesse Temple.
Mayer was a three-star recruit in the class of 2023. 247Sports ranked him as the No. 1024 player in the class, No. 97 edge defender and No. 24 recruit from his home state of Pennsylvania.
He committed to the Badgers in mid-June, so to the Paul Chryst staff with Bobby April as outside linebackers coach. Then once Fickell was hired in late-November, Mayer stuck around in his inaugural class.
The Clairton, Pennsylvania native was in a crowded outside linebacker room in Madison. He now enters the portal with four years remaining.
