A Wisconsin Badger named to the Walter Camp Preseason First-Team All-America Team

High honors for one of the best returning Badgers on the roster

[lawrence-newsletter]Wisconsin’s starting left tackle Cole Van Lanen is earning well-deserved preseason buzz. The rising senior was recently named to the Walter Camp Preseason First-Team All-America squad, and was the only Badger to earn the honor this season. There were rumors about Van Lanen leaving for the NFL after his junior season, although the starting OL is returning as one of the best left tackles in the nation.

Van Lanen is one of three Big Ten players on the first-team offense as he joins fellow OL Wyatt Davis out of Ohio State, and kicker Keith Duncan out of Iowa.

This past season, Van Lanen started all 13 games at left tackle for Wisconsin. As a sophomore in 2018, he earned the highest grade in the nation for an offensive tackle according to Pro Football Focus.

Wisconsin is OLU for a reason, and expect Van Lanen to be next in line for NFL success as an offensive tackle out of Madison.
